Me and my group went to Atlas restaurant. The food was fantastic and fresh. I tried the Buffalo Chicken Burrito (wrap) and it was delicious.The staff and decor deserve 4/5 stars.The prices are not cheap and in the same time not too expensive.  It's difficult to find another restaurant equals the level of quality and service you will experience at Atlas. Overall, we had a great experience at Atlas and of course it is a good place to visit from time to time.

For the first Google Map’s activity, our group members went to The Airliner. Today we have gone to another store that is closed to the Airliner. It is called the Short’s Burger & Shine, as it’s name, it is a burger store for lunch and dinner. I will compare and contrast these two bar from them scale, food and environment.

Both of these two stores are not very big, they have very small and delicate door, but once you get into the store, you will not think they are crowded. Both of them have very thin and long scale.

One of the biggest differences between The Airliner and The Short’s is food. The Airliner focus on pizza, which we can design our personal style pizza. The Short’s is preferred the burger, but it also could make our own hamburger.

Finally, I want to talk about the environment. The Airliner is a football theme store, the Short’s Burger just like a bar and like use wood to decorate the store.

That’s all the compare and contrast of these two stores.

Northside Bistro

Today we walked to Northside Bistro, it is a seafood restaurant. The address of this restaurant is 203 N Linn St, Iowa City. Northside Bistro is not very big, and the foods over there is very delicious. I ordered a rice casserole, it include chess, rice, and lots of kind of seafood. For me it was enough for a meal. Also, the environment of Northside Bistro is bright and clean. It is a good place to go with friend.(Joy)

We have been to Northside Bistro where is a great place.  As my home town is near to the sea I super love sea food. They severs a lot of kinds of food especially seafood. I think the way they cook all the ingredients well. And their decoration design is awesome. The thing which this restaurant surprised me is that they have Korean BBQ sauce. That is so nice for Asian people to have a better experience in this restaurant than in other American restaurant. However the opening time of Northside Bistro is not rational. They have a blank between lunch and dinner about 3 hours. And they also have different time schedule for week and weekend that sometimes would confuse people. In the end, the thing I want to say is Northside Bistro is a fantasy place to have seafood in Iowa City but you need to make a clear sense of the opening time of there. (Sean)

We went to Northside Bistro today after class. I must say that is a really good restaurant to go, you can see a bar when you just go in there. Then you go inside you can see some wood sits and tables like you sit beside the beach in Florida. They cook was very well, we ordered some seafood, like some conchs I show in the picture. Also I ordered a rice with seafood, that was really good and teste nice, you can find shrimp and conchs inside. It is different between I ate in China, in my city we don't use seafood with rice, it teste like other flavor. You should try that.(Jerry)

Yesterday, we went to the PullMan restaurant. I got to say that the food of PullMan is really good. I ordered a burger called Mo Burger, that was really great, and I especially like the fries. Except food, the service of this restaurant is nice also，the waiter often asked us about what we need. I like this restaurant，I think I will chose one day to come over there again.

Last week, our group decided to go to the restaurant named Pullman. I heard there has a very famous food which is marrow bone. Yesterday, we met there at 7:30.  Last I came there, it will took 2 hours to wait. However, yesterday was different, I think because was Tuesday. And then we got in there, ordered our favorite food. I ordered a small rib, Jason ordered a Mo Burger. The food was amazing. I think everyone should go to there and try their foods.

Great Time in BuleBird

On Monday, the first day of the week, our group members went to Bluebird Diner & Café’ for the last project in this semester. I searched about the restaurant before we went there, and I found that many people go there and like its design and its food. This is actually what I saw. The restaurant looks pretty good from the outside or even inside. There were many people. Also, its food was really good, especially the ice cream. Besides that, the stuff there were very kind and helpful. Anyway, I like this restaurant because of the stuff and the food. For instance, I ordered some salad with salmon and ice cream. It was really good. I think this restaurant is good, but many people prefer going there for breakfast, so I should try its breakfast some time in future.

Today me and my team Abdullah and Ted went to the American restaurant called bluebird, we ordered chicken strips, nuggets and smoked fish there, honestly, those were just so so, I mean they tasted just typically, just like McDonald or KFC. However, their ice-cream was amazing, even they only served chocolate and caramel ice-cream, it tastes really good, I have to say that it is the best ice-cream I have ever eaten in Iowa until now. Me and my team had a good time there.

Yesterday we went to the BlueBird for dinner which on the East Market Street. We met there at 6:30, we when came inside the weather turn bad and began to rain. I think we are lucky! I love this restaurant for real, I like their style and food. Waiter gave us the menu and when I open it I thought it’s not English, It’s looks like French and Spanish. I was let waiter introduce their special food and I order the most popular one and Ice Cream with chocolate for dessert. Those food taste really really good I promise. I hope we can go there again as soon as possible.

PullMan restaurant

Today at 7:30 my group and I went to PullMan restaurant, it is in downtown. The place is very small and most like a bar with a little more tables in the front and in the back. Although it is a small restaurant, I really like it because it is quite and not crowded. Also, there are not a lot of lights, so it is a good place to relax. For me, I did not order anything because I do not eat meat, but my other team members got some food.

El Bandito’s Mexican Restaurant.

This place is similar to other Mexican restaurant, it looks like a normal cantina with traditional pictures of bulls and bullfighters and the characteristic skull and crossbones. It was so familiar to me because more Mexican restaurants in Latin-American or in my country to be more specific are similar. It’s easy to go there, is in downtown on Market Street. I expected to find Mexican people around but I just see Americans. We were well attended and the food is good. They have good promotions mainly with the beers, so they have happy hours 4 to 6 pm every day. I ate a big Burritos; it was really nice to eat a food with Latinos ingredients. The environment is quiet. I think that is a perfect place to go with your friends after class and take some beers and eat a “variado”, or a mix of different kind of food, specially tacos al pastor very traditional Mexican food. I enjoyed the moment with my group and I think, I will back soon.

That day we went to a Mexican restaurant. I had to say it was a long way that I felt very tired specially I took with my bag and there was a large book there. However, I thought it may be so good that I felt deserved when I enjoyed food. Next, the environment was very different that there are many bones and skulls pictures, because I have never seen any other restaurants like this which uses bones picture to decorate the store. I thought it may be Mexican style.

Short's Burger & Shine

 Last Thursday after class, I had a good time with my group in Short's Burger & Shine (18 S Clinton St, Iowa City, IA 52240). It is small restaurant and bar in downtown. It has crowded although it was in weekday, I think in the weekend is more crowd because the bar and it location. We ordered one burger for each one it was very big to the extent that is dispersed in our hands. The decoration is old and dark but the food is good. Finally, after we ate and took pictures everyone back to home, it was nice time together.

  Today after class me and me group members went to the Atlas Restaurant&Bar. It is a restaurant and a bar. I like the wine in the showcase because it looks so gorgeous and beautiful. They stand in the showcase just like some princess. Also the environment of this restaurant is very good. It located at downtown and near by the crowed street. However, it make me feel so quiet inside. I think it is because it has a lot of wooden ornament inside. I think it will get more gorgeous at the night. I also like the outside part of this restaurant. It can watch the pedestrians on the street. it makes me feel so good. If I am over 21 I absolutely will ask a girl have dinner in this restaurant, drink some cocktail and watch the star at night.Also the menu in this restaurant is very specific and it is easy to understand. Anyway, this is a really good restaurant and it also is a good place to have a date. I highly recommend everyone have a dinner in this restaurant.

The art building

 On Wednesday, our team went to the Art Building, and we studied at there. Honestly, that's really a great place for studying or even just reading at there. The art building seems like a privet house with fancy design, the first floor has a big exhibition hall, you can see many intersting and creative painting over there, and the second floor has a library, which the place we studied. I never saw such a great view library, the window of the library is just made with glass, and if you set in front of the window, you face the pool that near the Art Building. I can say studying at there is really enjoyable.

The public library is near the University Capitol Center, which is so close for Iowa students that they just need to take five or ten minutes to arrive there on foot. Next, it is a good place to study. there are many books, which you can not only read in the library, but also borrow them, if you have a library card. What is more, there even are some study room which you can study by yourself or with friends in a quiet environment.

       As for study room, I want to talk about how to get a study room. To begin with, you must have a library card. Then you can go to page station which is on the second floor. Next, you need to ask assistants whether there are some study rooms which are empty. Finally, you need to ask them for a study and put your library card there to make sure you will return the key. Thus when you return the key, you do not forget to get your library card.

Hi, guys here we are again, with a new place to follow up

We went today afternoon to the Public Library, I think that most of you know this place very well, but I would like to show you some aspects of this amazing place. The Public Library is a big place where converge a lot of people, not just to read, this place offers a variety of thing to experiment yourself or with a group of people, such as classes to children, young people, and seniors, different kind of classes art classes, economy classes, poetry, technology and other. When you go into the Library, you can see a diversity of options to choose.

To compare the Iowa City Public Library with The Main library of the University of Iowa, they have plenty of similarities, a lot of books, but I think that The Public Library is a place where you can feel yourself more relaxed and comfortable because this place is not just to study or prepare a course. In the Main library of the University a lot of students are there, talking around and you do not have enough privacy.

I strongly believe that one library has to be a quiet place, where everyone could be concentrated on their studies. In the second floor of the Public Library there are some computers where you can investigate about different topics and there are a lot of people that can help you if you have some question. However, the Main Library of the University of Iowa is open 24 hours, that is amazing! and it has more information and archives.

It is important to mention that in the Public Library, you can borrow movies, music discs, electronic devices such as DVD players, video games. The library has a special kids’ area where children can enjoy a lot of things while they develop their sense of reading and share with other children.

I cannot say which place is worst or better because I think that each place has his pro and cons. Both places are comfortable on his purpose, and both have excellent people prepared to help you in all you need.

We have gone the public library, which is a wonderful place to study and enjoy whole afternoon’s good time.

we went the Iowa City Public Library. It is located in the Iowa downtown. When you walk into the gate, you could see the big computer in the middle of.

It can help you find what books you like quickly.

Near by the child reading part, this is a painting show and reading desks. You could read the books you chose in here and appreciate the paintings.

When you found some paintings you like, you are able to pay and buy the painting.

In the right way of the hall is the child’s part.

If you want to find something that fill full the child interest, it is a good choice 

The nice staff can give you some good choices if you are worrying about that what book is interesting.

In the bottom of the library, there is the VDO & CD renting part. It collects all kind of music. In here you definitely find something right to rent.

At the second floor, there are many academic books for doing research. At the left of the bookcase, you will see the library catalog computer. It would help you fleetly position you book where it is. There are also many studying room and Teen Center. The studying room can give you a quiet environment to studying.

If you want to rent some books or VOD, you could go this place where is at the right of the gate in the first floor.
