The High Ground Cafe Review "Raied,William,and Irene"

        

     last Tuesday, we went to The High Ground Cafe. Actually, I was surprised, because this cafe is not popular between students as Java House or Starbucks. In fact, we used google map to go there. The coffee from outside looks normal and there is not anything special.But from inside, It was big and there was a good space between tables which make anyone feels comfortable and privacy. High Ground Cafe has different kinds of things in the menu such as coffee,sandwich,wine, and drinks. I think it worth a visit for who has not been there.

The Green Garden market locates in the downtown  .  It’s a pretty good place. The whole place is a market and café mix togather .

I ordered a cup of latte , and 2 sandwiches, the latte is pretty smooth, milk and espresso are a amazing couple, after that, two sandwiches are pretty good , and pretty small , it’s really fresh and taste . A another point , there is a really expensive place.

Java House ( Sean, Jerry, Joey)

At Tuesday after class we went to the Java House. The weather is really great as we as Java. We ordered three cups of coffee, Cappuccino,  Candy coffee and American coffee. When we got into Java there was really crowded it shows Java's popularity. It took oue some time to find seats. While we went into Java there is a sweet scent assails the nostrils. Furthermore, Java does have a lot of people however there is really quiet. From my point of view Java House is a great place to study and do some individual things. In the end, we really have a nice trip. (Sean)

We went to The Java House Yesterday. There a lot students studied, and some people had met in there. Is has a lot of nice picture on the wall. I ordered a cappuccino, it is not expensive, and it look very nice, white froth on the top. But I don't really like this, it is kind like water no flavor, maybe I will try other one next time. Also I don't really like coffee, so I just been Starbucks before this one. Maybe Java House taste is not as good as Starbucks, but this space is so good for study! I don't know why, but I was very earnest to finish my homework! (Jerry)

Yesterday we went to The Java House and I completely love that place. The Java House is not very big, actually it is a little bit crowd. But the reasons I still love that place are that The Java House use the warm color light and the decoration of there is makes people feel very comfortable, I also smelled agreeably of coffee. People who sat in café were talking or chatting, also there were some people studied when I walked in. Even though there were lots of people did their work in café, but you couldn’t felt din over there, it is a place to make me feel quiet and peace. I ordered one cup of coffee which was cover by the cream and syrup. It was good but for me it was sweet enough because I don’t like sweet things except candy. In conclusion, I think The Java House is a good place for study or reading, also it is a good place to relax with your friends.(By Qianyong Ji)

The Bread Garden Coffee Shop

The Bread Garden is a good coffee shop in several ways.

First of all, the position of this coffee shop I really like it. The Bread Garden located in 225 South Linn St. in front of public library and close to Children’s playground. Its location decides that this coffee shop has many costumers. People can’t reject reading with a coffee in a shinny afternoon, so people who read in Public Library always buy a coffee from Bread Garden. Many clothes shops near this coffee shop, sometimes we eat our lunch when my friends and I hang out and shopping. Also, some parents bring their children come to the Children’s playground will buy a coffee because they need to wait for their children.

Second, I love the decoration of this coffee shop. In summer, the shop puts many sunshades (umbrella) out of shop, so people can drink coffee outside. In winter, the shop has a whole glass wall for costumers to feel the sunshine.

Last but not least, although I think the tastes of coffee is normal, but it is very convenient. It is very fast although it has many people, but two front-desk clerks helps people to make sure the menu, and two clerks make the coffee at once. So it saves much time for costumers.

All in all, the Bread Garden is a good place to have a coffee!

Fantastic Place to Reading

This Monday, our group went to  Prairie Lights Cafe. We met there at 3:30. When I got there, I thought there is a book store. So I found a shop assistant and asked where is the cafe, then she told me we need to go up stairs. When we found the cafe, there was really crowded, because everyone were reading and drinking. After that, we ordered drinks and sat on the bar counter. However, the coffee was amazing, and the clerk was friendly. If you want to feel study atmosphere, there is a great place to go.

Last day, our team went to a coffee shop called Prairie Lights. It's not a normal coffee shop that I have ever seen, it is a perfect combenation with book store and coffee shop. The book store is on the first floor, and on the second floor you can see a beautiful and classical coffee shop. Maybe because of this unique selling idea, the whole store is crowd. When we got there, there were almost no seats anymore, but luckily we can set on the higher table. The smell of coffee fill out the whole store, includes every  corner, every book, everyone's mind. When my coffee was ready, I was surprised, coffee was hold in a big cup, and there was a heart shape on the top. I can just say it's amazing with the first drink. The flavor of the coffee throughed my throat to my stomach, and the heat wormed me up. This was the best coffee experience in my 19 years life ever.

Yesterday I met my group members Abdullah and Ted at Fairground after class,  This place looks pretty good and make me feel comfortable. Abdhuall had a green tea there, and he said is just so so. As for me and Ted, we both ordered the Mocha. Honestly, I have to say that the Mocha taste not that good, or it is even worse than Starbucks, but we spent a happy hour with each other there.

Today, we went to the Fair Grounds coffee place, to compare with the JAVA house. It’s looks same for the decoration but when I came in I smell the lampblack flavor. I don’t like that smelling, but in JAVA house they smelling just like the coffee beans around you! I ordered the mocha in Fair Grounds, seriously the mocha taste not good, I most like the white mocha in JAVA house because It’s taste sweeter than the mocha in Fair Grounds. I don’t recommend you guys go to that place. I have three reason: their Mocha tastes not good, the Mocha more expensive than the White mocha in JAVA house, I don’t like the smelling in this shop that make me don’t want to stay anymore.

Last Monday, on the first day of a new week, our group went to the Fairground Coffee House. When I saw the place from the outside, I thought it will be very crowded because it looks like fancy café'. However, when we went inside, it was not crowded. It was almost empty. Anyway, there is a good and bad thing in the place. The good thing is that it is not crowded which that means it is a good and quite place to study there. On the other hand, the bad thing is that their drinks were not good as I expected. For instance, I ordered some green tea. Unfortunately, it was bad. Even though my other group members ordered something different, they did not like their drinks, too. However, we drank them because we have already paid for them. By the way, there is something has gotten my attention there which is there are some tables outside the café', so it is good to stay outside if the weather is perfect. Overall, I think it is a good place and of course, I will go there, especially when the weather gets warmer, so I can stay outside.

   Last Wednesday, my group (Peggy Chen and Andreas) and I went to Bread Garden Market (225 S   Linn St, Iowa City, IA 52240) at 12 pm. It is a supermarket and café. It is front of Public Library. It was very crowded and the inside tables place is worst because it is cold outside. I went to it in summer and it was very nice. They are selling a good and strong coffee. I bought cappuccino because I wanted to be reactivated. When we were in café someone come to us and after we invited his to share our table, he ask us about his project, it is phone app about an international student. Finally, we finished and went together to class. It was a very nice trip with my group.

Prairie Lights Cafe

Today after the class my group and I went to the Prairie Lights Cafe. It is a bookstore and the coffee shop is on the second floor. I was surprised because the coffee shop was very crowded and there was not a table for us to set! , but overall I really like the place. My group and I ordered some coffee and I enjoy it; however, my Mocca was super sweet for me. Today after class me and my group wen to The High Ground Cafe which is a very nice cafe shop for me. I think this cafe shop is better than the Starbuck because it has bigger space than Starbuck. The Starbuck is very small and always crowded. I think this a good place to study and enjoy a cup of coffee because it is quieter than Starbuck. Also the dessert in there looks very delicious but unfortunately I can't try it because I'm in a wight-loss time. But I think next time you can try it. But this cafe shop is much further than the Starbuck from downtown. It took me 8 mins to walk to there from North Hall. I ordered a cappuccino with less milk. I think it is not as good as the Starbuck's cappuccino. It is not Full-Bodied. Also the waiter in there is very nice. He is very happy to help us took a photo when we ask him could him take a photo for us. But the waiter in the Starbuck always seems busy and won't help you to take a photo.  According to my experience, I think The High Ground Cafe is a really great place to enjoy a study time with a coffee but not a very good place to try the coffee. However, you can have a try with it ! By the way, The High Ground Cafe is located at 301 E Market St，Iowa City, IA 52245.

Waterstreet Coffee and Tea is a beautiful place in Coralville, It is a place where you can find different kind of coffees and deserts. My group and I went together yesterday Sunday in the afternoon; it was a really nice day because it was a nice atmosphere. I first, We did not know how to go because Sunday there are not buses to Coralville, but one friend helped us and She gave us a ride in her car.

There were a lot of people in the coffee place, some of them were alone they were just working in their laptop but others were enjoying a lot. One friendly person gave us the welcome and asked us about what do we wanted to drink or eat. The place is modern and creatively decorated such as hippy. I really love the painting in one of the wall and the ladder. I strongly recommend this place to have a peaceful moment with friends or with a special person. It is a lovely place!!

Last Sunday, we have gone to the water street coffee bar to enjoy a happy noon. 

It is amazing place to enjoy a sweetly quiet and relaxing noon. There are two walls where are printed beautiful carton picture. And the glasses wall near by the gate can provide perfect sunshine for consumers. When the warm light strokes your face and the delicious coffee and dessert kiss your tongue, your whole stress will be evaporated automatically. By the way, the waiters are also pretty nice. Patiently waiting and carefully introduce both can capture your soft inter heart ! Don't stay at home, right now, let’s go here to enjoy a nice day!!!

 I feel good in this coffee store. There are many pictures on wall. Although I am not very good at art, I still feel they are beautiful. As for environment, I think it is so quiet that I can even finish my homework there. It is very different from the coffee stores in China. In China, you can always find some people talk in coffee stores. They make stores noise and uncomfortable. So when we told in the store, we could not speak too lord, which would affect others.

Airliner pizza

Airliner pizza is in the downtown of the Iowa City , the place has already made pizza over 50 years. Everyday , the place keep opening from 11am to next day 2am. The Airliner is a bar, but the food also is really ok. In the bar, everything look like a bar.

In my opinion . The place is really good. On the Sunday , we went to that place, the pizza is really cheap, one inch, one dollar. We have a really good time, the menu look like really ordnary

My review for The Airliner Restaurant

  Last Sunday, I have had good time with my group in The Airliner Restaurant. It has best pizza in Iowa City downtown. I ordered slice of the chees pizza. The slice is large, rich cheese, and delicious. I can get slices almost all day and just by $1 each. It has good location but it is small. The problem is the indoor seats are very close to the bar. The decoration is old because the restaurant launch in 1944. I think it is the best place for watch sports because it has a lot of flat screen TV,s. MY evolution of the Airliner Restaurant is 5/5 for location, 4/5 for pizza, 3/5 for price, 3/5 for decoration. Therefore, my opinion is 4/5. Finally, the place is greater with company.
